About This Puja

Ganapati Homam (Mahaganapati Homam) is the most important Vedic ritual performed before starting any new work or to remove obstacles in life. In Hindu tradition any puja or auspicious work begins with a prayer to Vigneswara, as he is the "Vignaraju" (remover of Vignhas).

Here is the complete description of this homam:

Speciality of Ganapati Homa

Performing Ganapati Homa not only removes obstacles, but also brings courage, intellectual development and wealth. This homa must be performed especially during house entry, marriage, upanayanam or starting a new business.

Benefits of Homam

Prevention of Disruption: Tasks undertaken are completed smoothly and without interruptions.

Graha Dosha Remedies: Ketu Graha Doshas and other Jataka Doshas are reduced in severity.

Vaastu Shuddhi: Doing it at the time of house entry removes the negative energy in the house.

Mental tranquility: Clearness is obtained by removing fears and confusion from the mind.

Homa Process

Ganapati Homa is scientifically conducted by Vedic scholars.

Anugna & Sankalpam: Taking permission from the deity to start the pooja, the devotees state their name, gotra and reason for performing the homa (sankalpam).

Punyahavachana: Purification of homa place and dravya with holy water.

Invocation of Mahaganapati: Shodashopachara Puja is performed by invoking Lord Ganapati in a kalash or kumbham.

Agni Consecration: The sacred fire is lit in the Homa Gundam and the Homa begins as a witness to the God of Fire.

Monetary offering: The eight types of dravyas (ashta dravyas) favored by Ganapati are sacrificed in the fire. They are:

Coconut pieces

Jaggery

Sugarcane pieces

Poha

Pelalu

Bananas

Honey

Sesame seeds

Mantra chanting: Ghee is offered as a bonfire while reciting powerful mantras like "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" and "Ganapati Atharvasirsham".

Poornahuti: At the end of the homam, fruits, sandalwood and flowers are placed in a silk cloth and offered in the fire.

When should it be performed?

Sankatahara Chaturthi: It is most auspicious to perform this homam on the Sankatahara Chaturthi day of every month.

Brahma Muhurtam: Homa performed before sunrise has special power.

Vinayaka Chavithi: Best done on the biggest festival of the year.

Important Suggestion: The raksha (ash) given after completion of homam should be worn on the forehead. It acts as a shield to protect us from harm.

The ritual is performed by Puja Phal's associated priests in a traditional, pure manner, with the name and gotra of the devotees, exclusively online. The video recording of the complete puja is sent to the devotees' WhatsApp.
