Rudrabhishekam Process
Rudrabhishekam usually proceeds in the following manner:
Ganapati Puja: Praying to the first worshipped Lord Ganesha without any obstacles.
Sankalpa: The person getting the abhishekam recites their name, gotra, and star and thinks about their desire in their mind.
Nyasa & Dhyana: The person performing the puja purifies the body with mantras and meditates on the form of Shiva.
Main Abhishekam: With the above mentioned dravas, the Vedic scholars perform Abhishekam on the Shivalinga while chanting 'Sri Rudram' in unison. During this time, the Lingadhara (Abhishekam vessel) is kept so that water continuously falls on the Linga.
Archana & Aarti: After the Abhishekam is completed, the Shivalinga is cleaned, decorated with Bilva leaves (Maredu forces), flowers and offerings of incense and lamps are made.
