Sri Saraswati Devi Archana is the most sacred pooja for education, knowledge, arts and eloquence (power of speech). We measure Goddess Saraswati as the "Goddess of all learning". Especially students, artists and intellectuals get special results by doing this arhana.

Saraswati Devi Archana Vishishtha
Saraswati means "flowing wisdom". Clad in white robes, veena, book and rosary, her form is an expression of serenity and pure intellect.

Main Items for Puja
White and yellow colors are most dear to Goddess Saraswati.
Flowers: White lotus flowers (preferred), jasmine or chamomile flowers.
Cloth: White or yellow cloth.
Offering: Pulihora (as it is yellow in colour), paramanam, honey or bananas.
Archana Process
Prayer: First remember Lord Ganesha and then recite Saraswati Dhyana Shloka. " Ya Kundendu Tusharahara Dhavala Ya Shubhvastravrita..."
Ashtottara Shatanamavali: Chanting the 108 names of Goddess Saraswati should be performed with flowers or axinthas.
Book Pooja: It is customary for students to worship their books or Kalas at the feet of Swami.
Mantra Japam: Chanting this mantra leads to development of mind: "Om Aim Saraswatyai Namah"
Neerajanam: Offering incense lamps and offering camphor arati.
When should it be performed?
Vasantha Panchami: Vasantha Panchami in the month of Magha is the birthday of Goddess Saraswati. Puja performed on this day is very powerful.
Moola Nakshatra: On the day of Moola Nakshatra during Sharannavaratra (Dasara), it is special to worship Goddess Saraswati in her adornment.
Wednesday & Thursday: This archana is best performed during the weeks of Wednesday and Thursday, the planets associated with education.
Important Note: It is our tradition to do Saraswati Puja while starting Vidyarambam (Literacy) for young children. It is believed that feeding honey as prasad to children after Puja will make their speech sweeter.
