About This Puja

Sri Sukta Maha Lakshmi Homa is the most powerful Vedic procedure for wealth, abundance and prosperity. This homam is performed by reciting mantras from "Sri Suktam" of Rigveda. It is like a panacea to invite Goddess Mahalakshmi and remove poverty in the house.

Here is a complete description of this Homa:

Homa Vishishta

Sri Suktam is a collection of 15 sacred verses in praise of Goddess Lakshmi. By doing homam with these mantras, the devotees get the blessings of Goddess directly. It is a tradition to perform this homam usually on Diwali, Dhana Trayodashi or Shravan Fridays.

Benefits of Homam

Financial Development: Losses in business are eliminated and income streams are increased.

Poverty alleviation: Freedom from the burden of debt.

Family comfort: Peace and harmony are created in the home.

Acquisition of immovable property: Wishes like own house, vehicle will be fulfilled.

Homam Process

This Homam should be performed methodically and with devotion.

Lakshmi Ganapati Puja: Lord Ganapati and Goddess Lakshmi are worshiped together first without mixing Vighnas.

Punyahavachana: Sanctifying the place of Homa.

Installation of Kalash: Shodashopachara Puja is performed by invoking Mahalakshmi in the Kalash.

Sri Sukta Parayanam: Pundits chant the Sri Sukta mantras that say "Hiranyavarnam Harineem..." as Vedic.

Substances offering: Some special substances are sacrificed in this homam:

Ghee: for wealth.

Lotus flowers: Most beloved to Goddess Lakshmi (Padma Homam).

Bilva Patra (Maredu Leaves): For permanence of wealth.

Payasam (rice, milk, jaggery): For prosperity.

Mahamangala Harati: Finally, the Goddess is blessed by Nirajan.

When should it be performed?

Friday: Most auspicious day for Mahalakshmi.

Purnima (Full Moon): Lakshmi Kataksha is bright on the day when the moon is full.

Shravan month: Fridays of this month (during Varalakshmi Vrat) are auspicious.

Diwali: Homam performed on the day of Dhana Lakshmi Puja will yield crores of results.

RULES TO BE OBSERVED

The house should be extremely clean on the day of homam (Mahalakshmi resides where there is cleanliness). Arches should be made at the door of the house and lamp worship should be done. After the homam is over, giving tambulam, turmeric and saffron to the Suvasins (muttaidus) will make Amma happy.

Sukti: " Shraddaya Devi Labhyate" — means Mother speaks only when invoked with devotion.

The ritual is performed by Puja Phal's associated priests in a traditional, pure manner, with the name and gotra of the devotees, exclusively online. The video recording of the complete puja is sent to the devotees' WhatsApp.
